We are looking for a versatile and dedicated theater leader with a broad knowledge in directing, set design, sound/light, acting, and scriptwriting. A person who has the ability to uplift and inspire, creating exciting and important theater together with children, youth, and adults.

Responsibilities:

• Lead amateur theater groups of various ages.
• Lead theater groups for children and youth in collaboration with the Cultural School in Gällivare.
• The work includes developing the theater's tools to engage children and youth more in the minority's culture and language.
• Participate in the theater's other productions based on your competencies.

About Tornedalsteatern

Tornionlaakson teatteri/Tornedalsteatern aims to conduct professional performing arts as well as performances by and with volunteer actors. The theater places great importance on activities aimed at children and youth. The theater will work based on its own minority's culture and history to strengthen the identity and language of meänkieli.

Tornedalsteatern strives to be an integral part of the cultural life in Sweden and the Nordic region.

Tornedalsteatern has amateur theater activities in Haparanda, Övertorneå, Pajala, Gällivare, and Kiruna, where the activities are largely characterized by the theater leader's own ideas, initiatives, and competencies.

The theater is based in Pajala, where the professional productions are also produced and then sent on tour.

The work starts on August 18, 2026, or by agreement.
